Jane Edgett

Owner, Coach & Instructor
- CDF Fellow Standard/Latin - ISTD Fellow Standard/Latin
- CDF, ISDF, and National Championship Adjudicator

World registered adjudicator and coach of dancesport competitors from Halifax to Vancouver, Jane is lucky to have started dance training as a child by helping in her mother's school in Moncton. Moving to Halifax to join the CBC's Don Messer's Jubilee, she became one of the Buchta Dancers. From there, the natural avenue was to continue training to become a full time dance instructor. Jane's love of dance, music and movement is what makes the Dance Centre a special place to be

Barb Child

Instructor & Coach
- CDF Fellow Standard/Latin
- ISTD Fellow Latin - CDF, ISDF, and National Championship Adjudicator

Barb emigrated to British Columbia after a dance career in England that began in her teens. She now divides her time between teaching at our studio and in Vancouver. Experienced in working with dancers from beginners to competitors, and training dance teachers, Barb brings with her the love of dance and people.

Kathy Murphy

Instructor
Graduate of the Nova Scotia Teachers College, Kathy combines her Phys Ed degree and dance training to teach our leisure dance programs. After 32 years of teaching in the school system, Kathy refused to stop helping others get off the couch and get active. Her sense of humour, coupled with her belief that having fun and enjoying yourself is the primary goal of dance, keeps her classes entertaining and eventful.

C.Richardson

After competing in Dancesport events for a number of years with his partner, Mai and his most recent partner Meg,  he has chosen to move his career to the Professional track. Cole is presently training with Barb and Jane for his teacher qualifying  exams, continues his personal dance training and will be teaching private lessons and group classes in our Dance Centre.

Janet Hartman

Janet, a retired elementary school educator, joined Edgett as a student.  She quickly became addicted to the joy of music and movement combined and is now passing this on to our students.  You will enjoy her “sense of enthusiasm” as she leads you through the fun of learning the basics.

Paul Richard

Paul came to Edgett as a student seeking an interesting social network.  To his surprise he found that the music and dancing inspired him to reach outside his comfort zone by training in DanceSport, the art/sport of Competitive Ballroom Dancing.  Several competitions later Paul once again found himself reaching outside his comfort zone by getting involved with teaching social dance.  Come and experience his gentle approach and dry sense of humour.
